Single Payer 101
The event has reached capacity and we are no longer accepting RSVPs. We hope to live stream the event and make materials available electronically. Thank you for understanding!
Who: You and anyone interested in learning more about how a single payer healthcare system works. All are welcome!
When: Sunday, March 19th 11AM — 3PM
Where: District Council 1707 Auditorium, 420 West 45th Street New York, NY 10036
What: More and more people are talking about 'single payer healthcare,' but what exactly is 'single payer'? Is this like 'Medicare for All?' How is it different from the ACA? What does it cover? How will we pay for it? Is this socialized medicine? Is that good or bad? Why don't we have a universal system in the U.S. already? What can I do to get more involved?
We have answers to all these questions and more!
Join Physicians for a National Health Program's New York Metro Chapter for a workshop that will cover the basics of universal, single-payer healthcare.
This workshop is designed to increase confidence to speak one-on-one and in small groups on why single payer is the solution to our healthcare crisis. We will cover how the issue is framed to reach a broad audience; frequently asked questions; proposals in both Washington D.C. and Albany to implement single payer healthcare; and most importantly -- how you can be an authority no matter what your level of experience with the healthcare system.
