We invite you to a workshop to help you write more readable and more compelling letters to the editor and op-eds intended to increase awareness and support for single payer, whether state or federal or both. It will be held Sat., April 6 from 12:00-3:00 PM, at Weill Cornell Medical College, 1300 York Ave., corner of 69th St. in Manhattan, 2nd floor - look for signs (directions here). The training will be led by Dr. Judith Esterquest. Judy is an experienced writer/editor who leads the Campaign for NY Health’s expert NYS letter-writing team.
We are planning participant-focused discussion, with small-group practice on writing, editing, and audience attention. To maximize participation and feedback, we are capping enrollment at 25. We urge that you to sign up only if you intend to get active in doing this type of writing on Health Care for All. If you fit that profile, please RSVP ASAP.
Note that after you RSVP, you will receive 3 questions asking you to pre-write brief, personal answers about what the NY Health Act means to you. We'd ask that you respond by Friday, April 5.
You will also receive an additional package of readings about the New York Health Act, some sample letters and opinions to peruse for observations. This prep work will allow you to jump directly into exercises with ideas and examples.
