As we near the end of 2023, we are looking back at all that we have accomplished... and how this work sets the stage to continue our organizing into 2023.
To revisit just a few of our accomplishments this year:
- We met with nine of our national legislators to discuss the most recent Medicare privatization scheme: ACO-REACH. This superficial rebranding of the Direct Contracting program intentionally misleads people by using language to align itself with the Accountable Care Organizations established under the Affordable Care Act, when in reality it’s a nonconsensual transition of seniors into managed care programs.
- Working with providers and patients across the City, we carried out an Op-Ed campaign that highlighted different voices and the barriers they were encountering in accessing and providing necessary care under our current system.
- We launched our inaugural Universal Healthcare Legislative Advocacy Fellowship, working with health workers and students across the state to develop new leaders in organizing the healthcare community in support of the New York Health Act. Our 34 Fellows are working across more than a dozen districts in preparation of Lobby Day 2023.

This is a particularly helpful way to support our work, as it enables us to plan with a steady monthly income.
All donations are fully tax-deductible and support our work for universal, single-payer health care.
